Beside one of the Sunshine Coast’s most iconic waterways, this superbly crafted 1970s home looks out to moored yachts and golden sunsets shimmering over the water. It lacked one important thing: a space big enough for a growing family to soak it all up.

With the vista lying to the west, simply enlarging the existing deck was not enough. Operable screens provide a flexible response, offering privacy and shade while allowing the family to enjoy the outlook.

The extensive remodelling also brought a new approach to the internal layout. More living space, a functional kitchen, additional car parking, walk-in robes, ensuites, bedrooms and an office were created without increasing the building’s original footprint.
