Renovate or rebuild? Start with what the home needs to doOnce a typical 1990s Sunshine Coast project home, Kestrel has been transformed into a place with a more contemporary character. A palette of raw materials—original face brick, concrete, recycled hardwood and galvanised steel—creates an effect that is dramatic yet calming.
Scyon Axon cladding finished in Colorbond Monument deepens the mood, bringing the existing and new materials together.
The renovation also created the purpose-built studio from which Void Building Design operates, making the project part of the practice’s everyday life.
